- Australian with a humanitarian visa.
- A bachelor’s degree that requires at least four years of full-time study in a relevant field, including a research component in the fourth year, and results in an honours 1 or 2A in an important field;
- A course leading to a level deemed equivalent to an honours 1 or 2A in a relevant field by the relevant department, faculty, and committee.
- A master’s degree that requires work, typically with a significant research component, and includes at least 25% of one full-time equivalent year of work, including a thesis. A grade of honours 2A or higher is usually expected for the research thesis or project. When there is no grade, examiners’ reports will be considered.
- Have qualifications that are considered equivalent by GRC.
Scholarships are given based on an applicant’s academic performance, research output, and prior research experience. - Have not previously held a Postgraduate Research Award funded by the Australian Government or Monash University for more than six months.
